Beyonce - To play Esther Blodgett in "A Star Is Born"


Beyonce is currently in talks to play the lead the role of Esther Blodgett in "A Star Is born". The movie is about a young woman, Esther, who decides to go to Hollywood to pursue stardom. There she meets Norman Maine and falls in love with him. He helps guide her promising career while his declines rapidly.

Clint Eastwood will direct and produce the film. This will be the fourth version of "A Star Is Born". The first was made in 1937 and the mos recent in 1976. Barbra Streisand starred as Esther Blodgett, and Kris Kristofferson played the role of Norman Maine. Although the movie was not a major hit, Barbra Streisand won an Oscar for its theme track "Evergreen".

The role of Norman Maine hasn't been offered to anyone yet. Possible cast selections include Robert Downey Jr, Russell Crowe, Will Smith, P Diddy, and Jay-Z.

On other Beyonce news, she is reportedly "one song away" from finishing her next studio album.

she had been in the studio with producer S1, who broke the news via his twitter account.

Rap-Up has confirmed the album will be released in 2011.

BTW, In December 2010, Forbes reported that Knowles earned $87 million from January 2010 to December 2010 and eventually ranked her at the ninth place on its list of the "Hollywood's 20 highest-earning men and women of 2010". Knowles was the only artist to break the top ten.

Beyonce Gets Down and Dirty as a 60s Homemaker

is apparently on vacation, but just couldn’t help herself from working on a new video. B released a sneak peak for a video titled “Why Don’t You Love Me”, a bonus track from her “I Am… Sasha Fierce” album. The track was written by her sister Solange, cousin Angie Beyince, and herself. The song will probably not be released as a single, and will most likely only have a video release.

Beyonce gets dirty/oily wearing short shorts as she tries to play mechanic and repair her broken car in the 60’s inspired clip.

Beyonce and Jay-Z – Young Forever at Coachella

 surprised his fans by introducing Beyonce to the stage during the Coachella Music & Arts Festival on Friday. The crowd went crazy when Beyonce came on stage, joining her husband Jay-Z.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I wanna introduce y’all to someone super-duper special,” announced Jay-Z, as Beyonce stepped on the stage. “I’m not even gonna say the name. I’m gonna let her speak for herself.”

The couple sang ‘Young Forever’ from Jay-z’s Blueprint 3 album. At the end of the song Jay-Z shouted “One word – Beyonce! Make some noise!”

During his own set, Jay-Z sang popular hits such as ‘Izzo (H.O.V.A.),’ ‘Hard Knock Life,’ ‘I Just Wanna Love You (Give It To Me),’ and ‘Empire State of Mind.’

Sony Blocks Beyonce YouTube Videos



Beyonce fans can no longer watch videos on her official YouTube channel. While clicking on a video the following message appears: “This video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.”

The YouTube block allegedly stems from a copyright infringement issue involving Sony. No further details are currently available though speculation is that Sony is looking for a piece of the lucrative online video market.

It’s not all bad news though, Beyonce and Lady Gaga have been breaking worldwide chart records with their “Telephone” video. The duo come in a tie with Mariah Carey for most ever No. 1 songs on the Billboard Pop Songs. The video has helped Lady Gaga reach over a billion views, an all time record on YouTube.

Beyonce, Jay-Z, Swizz Beats Perform With Alicia Keys!


Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Swizz Beats joined Alicia Keys last night at her concert in New York at Madison Square Garden. Beyonce sang “Put It In A Love Song”, Jay-Z and joined Alicia as she started singing “Empire State of Mind”, and her main man Swizz Beats performed “On To The Next One”.

It was the first time that Beyonce and Alicia Keys performed together in a concert, you can only imagine people’s excitement when they saw B going down the stairs. The video for “Put It In A Love Song” was supposed to be released yesterday, however it was delayed once again. Well Alicia did make up for it with this amazing concert! Beyonce – Cast on “A Star Is Born”



Beyonce and Robert Downey Jr. are reportedly favourites for a remake of the 1937 “A Star Is Born” musical. Reports say that Director Nick Cassavettes is eyeing the both of them for the leading roles of Normal Maine and Esther Victoria Blodgett, aka Vicki Lester. John Hamm, Alicia Keys, and Rihanna are said to also be casted as possible supporting stars.

"A Star Is Born" was first released in 1937 and has been remade twice before, once with Judy Garland and James Mason in 1957, and once with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in 1976.

The project may be finished before the end of the year if all negotiations go through fine. It doesn’t sound like Beyonce is going to take her 6 month break after all, there are just too many opportunities for her out there.
