Amanda Seyfried Gets Romance in Letters to Juliet

Amanda Seyfried is one of the young actresses out there with a big future ahead in the movie industry. Alexa Davalos Is Andromeda in the New Clash of the Titans

There's a new Clash of the Titans movie and it has Alexa Davalos as Andromeda. In the original made in 1981, Andromeda is played by actress Judi Bowker. Davalos steps into her shoes (and robes) as the maiden to be rescued by Perseus, played now by Sam Worthington.

Fans of Davalos would know she played a grown-up Kyra in The Chronicles of Riddick. She died in that movie after having unwillingly dipped her mind and soul into the dark religion of the Necromongers. It's the second transformation of the character which was introduced as an innocent young girl in Pitch Black. In The Chronicles of Riddick, Davalos wore a hip-hop-inspired outfit. In Clash of the Titans, she wears a ancient Greek dress.

We all know that Davalos, as Andromeda, will be chained to a rock by the sea to be eaten by the sea monster, Cetus. Of course, as the myth goes, she will be rescued by Perseus who she gets to marry. That's Andromeda. Alexa Davalos is not Andromeda. That's just a character she plays. She can definitely hold her own without anyone to rescue her or tell her how good she looks. Gemma Arterton Slips into the Sands of Time in The Prince of Persia

Gemma Arterton is Tamina. Do you know who Tamina is? Well, she's the lady character and love interest of Prince Dastan in The movie adaptation of the classic video game, The Prince of Persia.

Subtitled, The Sands of Time, the movie features Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role. Gyllenhaal's Prince Dastand and Arterton's Tamina are in a playful love-hate relationship in the movie - a kind of courtship that ends in the two getting deeper into each other even when they start out as rivals.

Tamina is supposed to be the lady-in-distress in the movie, but for the most part, it's Prince Dastan who appears to be in need of rescuing as he gets into all manner of dangerous situations that imperil his life. Tamina just smoothly goes through them all, confident of her own abilities. Arterton's character is really akin to that of a modern day woman who can hold her own.

As an actress and model, Arterton definitely can hold her own in these pictures. She's the kind of woman that commands attention in her pictures, which is very true for her face. The photographer of her portrait used for one of the The Prince of Persia promotional movie posters (left) certainly knew this and made the most of it. Arterton also appeared in Quantum of Solace as Strawberry Fields.
