Teresa Palmer In The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Teresa Palmer is the girl in The Sorcerer's Apprentice. She stars alongside Jay Baruchel (the apprentice) and Nicolas Cage (the sorcerer). Palmer was paired with Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories (left), where she got to wear a golden bikini and hair trusses with her Greek-inspired goddess gown. Fantasy seems to become Teresa Palmer and now she's in another fantasy of sorts that has plenty of hard action the likes of which you only see in Jerry Bruckheimer films. This movie, after all is part Bruckheimer and part Disney.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a new Disney take on the old animated classic piece in Fantasia where Mickey Mouse plays the sorcerer's apprentice that has problems with an enchanted broom. This live action, and we mean action, film is not your Mickey segment. In fact, it's a lot like Bulletproof Monk, which stars Chow Yun-Fat as the master teaching a young man secret and magical ways of combat. It's your modern kung-fu flick where the master teaches a student who learns other lessons along the way. But instead of martial arts, it's got magic - lots of it.

In the trailer of The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Teresa Palmer appears only for maybe three seconds (left), but her face captures the attention of viewers long after the trailer is done and they wonder who that girl is. Well, it's Teresa Palmer who's made to look a lot younger and "teenish."

Lily Cole Is for the Imagination of Fans

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is a story in which the daughter of Parnassus becomes an unwilling payment for a deal made by the father to the devil. The daughter, Valentina, is played by model-turned-actress Lily Cole. In the movie, Tony, played by the late Heath Ledger and actors Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell, go through different landscapes of the imagination in order to help Parnassus win against the devil and save Valentina from damnation. The winner, of course, will get Valentina's hand in marriage.

It's obvious that in real life, a lot of men would also undoubtedly wish to marry Lily Cole. Her being a successful actress now is the result of hard work as a model, wearing clothes that are the products of the imagination as well as sometimes leaving little for the imagination. While there are other photo shoots where Cole poses in more daring outfits, or none at all, the samples shown here are enough to reveal her as a professional model and actress who, as some fans put it, can be dressed up like an imaginary doll to your liking.

Xiong Dai Lin Plays Wife of Ip Man

Model-turned-actress Xiong Dai Lin plays the wife of Bruce Lee's Wing Chun kung fu sifu (mentor) Ip Man (pronounced eep mun). Lin (we'll simply call her that, although she's also known as Lynn Hung) plays a complaining but loyal partner to Ip Man, played convincingly by best-actor-award winner Donnie Lee. Interestingly, Ip Man defends Lin's character only once in the movie against potential harm from Japanese soldiers, one of which tries to approach her in the pivotal scene saying, "Mmm, pretty."

Indeed, it's hard not to say "pretty" when you see Xiong Dai Lin's pictures even as a model and off the set of the Ip Man movies. In Ip Man, she is generally shown with Chinese food or caring for her character's son. She wears, classic 1930s fashion, which still looks good on her even with it's conservative style. But she's really more than that in the way she creatively poses with fashion designs that reveals more to the mind than what meets the eye.

Charlotte Gainsbourg Stars with Willem Dafoe

This is Charlotte Gainsbourg, a French actress and songwriter who stars with Willem Dafoe in the Lars Von Triers movie, Antichrist. In it she plays a disturbed woman and Dafoe her partner who tries to shake some sense into her. It's a psychological drama with an excellent performance of Gainsbourg that's worth looking at.
